Last February, we had one gray day after another. This month, though not all days have been bright, bright, bright, we have had some full sunshine. Given a very sunny weather forecast, we took ourselves on a little day trip to Szekesfehervar, a small city about an hour train ride from Budapest. It was listed in an Art Nouveau guidebook as having an interesting peacock house. The house itself was not in great shape, and didn't appear on the tourist map for the town. Nevertheless, we saw it admired it--even though it is in some disrepair.
It also has a tree of life ornament and beautiful door and rails.
The interior was nice as well.
Next door were the restored Arpad baths, originally by Jeno Hubner, around 1900.
